This Girls Lunchbox is a membership club for Miami lesbian and queer women and femmes. Its founders hosted the first event open to the public in celebration of the Gay Pride Week 2018 at Hyatt Centric in South Beach.

Artist Najja Moon and activist Octavia Yearwood describe the club as a safe social space for diverse mix of lesbian, bisexual and queer Miami women. According to the duo, white males dominate the large majority of LGBTQ spaces in Miami. In addition, they found it strange that a diverse city like Miami had no all-inclusive spaces for LGBTQ women. As a result, Moon and Yearwood created programmed events providing a space for “all queer women to convene, connect and build with each other.”
The club attracts a diverse creative community of socially engaged women. You can learn more about the members by following our monthly #LunchBox column.
